Sustainable Infrastructure / Tres Amigas
In 2016, Tres Amigas leveraged its regulatory and transmission know how, FERC rights-of-way, and equity capital to complete development of a giant 497MW wind project in eastern New Mexico called Broadview. Its sale in 2017 was the largest renewables deal in the U.S. that year and included construction of Western Interconnect with J.V. partner, Pattern Energy – a 35-mile enabling transmission line that delivers Broadview’s power to renewables-hungry customers in California. Meanwhile, Western Interconnect serves Tres Amigas as Phase I of its development plan.
